The Characteristic Curve

For every electric element, e.g. for a light bulb, a characteristic curve can be drawn, which depicts the relation of amperage and voltage (the U-I-curve). This curve needs a coordinate system. Voltage is plotted along the x-axis, amperage along the y-axis. On the right you can see what such a coordinate system should look like.
