The dangers of working with electricity

Our body is made up of more than 70 % of water - e.g. in our cells or in the blood. But it's never pure water. In it, there are many ions, which can move freely in the water. Because of these free-moving ions our body can conduct electricity very well.
If a high electrical current runs through our body, our muscles can cramp and our most important muscle, the heart, might start beating the wrong way or even stop beating altogether. If our heart stops beating, it can no longer pump blood. Oxygen in the blood is no longer transpoerted. Without oxygen, our organs, and especially the brain which needs a lot of oxygen, are severely damaged. So, if you we are lucky and survive it, our body is extremely damaged.
The problem is: electricity is invisible. If we can't see it, we could touch it by accident. That makes electricity especially dangerous.
A thunderbolt causes extremely high amperages in the area where it strikes.
