A bottle full of air...

For the following experiment you will need:

• a balloon
• an empty bottle made of glass or plastic (0,75 or 1 Liter)
• a pot (half-filled with water)
• an electric kettle
• an esky (cold box) with ice or a fridge with a freezer

Pull the balloon over the neck of the bottle(see image below).

As you can see the balloon is saggily hanging from the bottle.

What happens to the balloon when you dip the bottle into a container with boiling water?

Check your hypothesis in the experiment. Heat up the water in the pot. Careful!
