Surely, you have noticed that objects made of metal do feel colder than the ones made of wood or plastic.

But why do some materials feel warmer or colder as others?

a) The materials have different temperatures. This is registered by the receptors of our skin.

b) The materials do have the same temperature. However, some materials abstract the temperature from the skin faster than others. This is registered by the receptors of our skin.
