Refracted rays of light
If a ray of light hits the boundary between media, it will be refracted there. The strength and the direction of the refraction depends on the material which the light pervades.
To determine the refraction, the two media, which the light pervades, are compared. In case the light comes from the water to the air, it is refracted away from the normal. The greater the entrance angle is at the boundary, the stronger is the refraction of the ray of light.

Try to outline the rough path of the ray of light, which comes from the adjacent fish.
