What a shame! That was wrong. As you can see in the GeoGebra depiction, due to refraction light rays are scattered after they have passed through the diverging lens. Scientifically one speaks of diverging light rays. A real image cannot be created behind the lens and thus it isn't an image that could be projected on a screen.

Do you have an idea now how to solve the brain teaser's question from the beginning?
