Every player has four shadows. Every source of light creates a shadow behind the player. In the picture below we used two sources of light. You are able to observe two shadows because every source can create one shadow behind the object.
Every candle creates a shadow behind the object. In the point, where the two shadows overlap, it is completely dark because no light reaches that point. This point is called umbra.
You can also observe lighter shadow areas. These areas are only hit by the light of one candle but not the other. Therefore, this area is called penumbra.
Also, you are able to observe that the candles also create shadows. What kinds of areas are created?
