Inertia everywhere
Every body is inert because of its mass. It retains the current state of movement (rest or linearly uniform movement), until an external force is acting on it.
Now we want to examine the inertia of solid bodies, liquid and gaseous substances together.
For the experiments 1a and 1b you need:
- 1 ball (billard ball, tennis ball, marble or something similar)
- 1 piece of thick cardboard or carton (approx. 30x30 cm)
For the other experiments you need:
- 1 big water resistant and (if possible) transparent tub (or a big cooking pot)
- 1 table tennis ball
- 1 piece of thread
- an adhesive tape
