Archimedean Principle

The following test description wants to explain the Archimedean Principle:
A metalpiece is hung up on a spring force meter. A red respectively a white section on the scale corresponds to a mass of 20 g, thus the metalpiece has got a mass of approximately 180 g (9 sections x 20 g = 180 g).
