The buoyancy of a body in a liquid substance equals the weight of the liquid substance which is displaced by the body.
If the density of the ice chunk equalled the density of the water, all of it would sink into the water and the water which is displaced by the ice chunk would have the same weight as the ice chunk itself has. The lifting force would equal the weight force of the ice chunk – The ice chunk would be floating in the water.
