Electric charge

There are two forms of electric charges: positive (+) and negative (-). Consequently, in terms of its charge a body can have three states:

  1. If it incorporates the same amount of positive and negative charges, it is charged neutrally.

  2. If it incorporates more positive than negative charges, it is charged positively.

  3. But if there are more negative than positive charges, it is charged negatively.

Objects which are charged contrarily attract each other, whereas identically charged objects repel each other. So if a negatively charged piece of plastic material is placed near positively charged hair, they will attract each other. But if you hold the negatively charged piece of plastic next to another negatively charged plastic piece, they will repel each other.

Give it a try!
