How does the rod deflect the water without touching it?

a) The rod made of plastic has become extremely magnetic by rubbing. Due to the reason that water is ferruginous, the water is attracted magnetically by the rod. Therefore the water will be deflected, if the rod is close to it.

b) The rubbing makes the plastic rod very dry. Because of the lack of moisture, the water is attracted. The stronger you rub, the greater is the impact of the force afterwards.

c) The rod is electrically charged by rubbing. Because of this charge, the water jet is attracted and thus deflected.
