Magnetised Iron

Magnetism is caused by elementary magnets. These cannot flow like charges. Magnetism and (static) electricity are two different phenomena.

The nail in your hand only attracts one of the two ends of the other half of the nail. The other half is repelled very lightly (barely recognisable). In both halves new north and south poles have formed.

To solve the task, you can think about which of the ends attract each other and what this means for a split magnet.
