The Broken Magnet
Unfortunately, your answer is wrong.
It is correct that a magnet always has a north and a south pole. There are no magnetic monopoles. But a magnet does not lose its attraction when it is split. Take a closer look at how the poles are separated. At first you should only think about one of the pieces, and whether it changes because of the separation. It can be very useful to keep the model of elementary magnets in mind.
