Sum of vectorial quantities

The graphical addition of vectors can be done by stringing together two arrows while maintaining their direction. The resulting vector (red arrow) connects the beginning of the first vector with the end of the second one (see animation below).

It is particulary easy when both vectors point in the same direction.
